Dementia Story Book Walk Oct 10-18

Dementia Friendly Dodge (DFD), along with partners Beaver Dam Chamber, Hustisford Public Library, Watertown Regional Medical Center (WRMC), and Waupun Parks and Recreation are hosting story book walks in several locations throughout Dodge County to raise dementia awareness. The walks start on Saturday, October 10th and run through Sunday, October 18th so walk when it best fits into your schedule!Starting locations are:
Beaver Dam Watermark, Hustisford Library, Watertown Regional Medical Center, and Pine Street Park in Waupun. Invite your family and your friends and get a group together – let’s continue to bring dementia awareness to Dodge County. The book on display will be ‘Grandpa and Lucy’, a story written by high school student Edie Weinstein. As part of a Girl Scouts project, Edie wanted to create something that was helpful to teach a younger generation about dementia. Limited copies of the book along with resource bags will be available to walk participants concluding their walk at the following locations and times: Beaver Dam Chamber of Commerce, October 12th thru 16th during business hours (Book drawings October 19th) Hustisford Public Library from October 10th thru 18th during business hours. Watertown Hospital on October 18th from 9-11 am. Waupun Pine Street Park Pavilion on October 19th 12-5 pmPlease consider taking a walk during the week to learn more about dementia.
