Exercise Your Mind! The Hustisford Community Library is offering the 2016 Summer Reading Program that will run from June 13 through August 15. This year’s theme is Ready – Set – READ! Our goal is to encourage kids to read for fun during the summer to retain their reading skills.
“There will be opportunities for all ages to participate in this years program.” says Monica Wasemiller, Hustisford’s children’s librarian. ” CSI (Create Share Inspire) Mondays are back with weekly craft challenges. We are very fortunate to be able to reach so many people in our community and showcase all of the functions of the library.” New this year – we are engaging those 13 and older with MakerSpace Teen which will include Lego Mindstorms, 3-D printing, Raspberry PI, Makey Makey and Silk Screen printing every Tuesday afternoon. Sign up and signed permission from parent is required for MakerSpace time.
Sign up starts at noon on Monday June 13. Each child will receive a bag with tracking sheet to record their reading time. To add to the fun and create a sense of challenge that will keep kids reading, there are many activities planned that will get them looking to books for answers. Incentives and contest prizes are awarded throughout the summer for children as well as adults.
All programs are free of charge. For a listing of activities throughout the summer – CHECK US OUT! on the web or Facebook. For more information call the Hustisford Community Library at 920-349-3463.
